Rhubarbarian is made with an aggressive amount of locally grown rhubarb, which has a very unique bright fruit profile with plenty of tang due to the high acid content. Like apples, rhubarb stalks contain high levels of malic acid and thus add a lot of zip to the cider.
Rhubarb is primarily grown in Oregon, Washington and Michigan. We source our Crimson Red rhubabarb from local growers right in the Willamette Valley, in Oregon. Because of its fibrous nature, we first crush and juice the rhubarb, and add the juice directly to the fermentation tank with fresh pressed apple juice. The result is a barbarically satisfying cider that will put metaphorical hair on your chest.
